This is the end, hold your breath and count to ten...

I found out this morning that Adele released a new song, titled "Skyfall" for the upcoming James Bond movie.

To be really honest, I was never a fan of James Bond and was also not a fan of the Quantum of Solace soundtrack for many reasons. However, you can never go wrong with Adele, so I gave Skyfall a listen. The moment I started playing the song, I never stopped.

I simply fell in love with it.

What I really like about Skyfall is that it encapsulates the whole James Bond 'vibe'; classy, confident, sexy, secretive, full of suspense, etcetera... Or to put it real simple; James Bond in his tuxedo.

(Yes, I prefer Sean Connery to any other person who has played James Bond. Just look at that face!)

It has been a while since I last got hooked to a song, and I am pretty sure this song is going to be on loop for a while. Goddess Adele has done it again!

Forgive me, for I shall repent

Having to be born with skin colour a tad darker than Chinese, and having facial features that are a tad different from the large eyed Indians, people often mistake me for a Muslim. Now, this might not be a bad thing for some of you guys, but to me, it has been something that I have a difficult time trying to adapt to.

Before you start jumping to conclusions and begin accusing me of being a racist, let me first tell you that I am in no way against the Muslims and their religion.

It is just that every time Ramadhan approaches, I cringe in fear of being judged by some people. No, it is not because of the 'Mat and Minah' stereotypes that I get, but because of how I have to hide whenever I eat or hide my tattoo during this month.

Why, you say? Well, as mentioned earlier, many have assumed that I am a Muslim and often glare at me when I head out to head to eat before 'Itfar' or the time for breaking fast. I know most might think of not giving a damn to these people because obviously their assumptions of me being a Muslim is wrong. However, ignoring is not really blissful in this situation. This is because I have been hit with an umbrella by an elderly lady while I was having an ice cream at the bus stop. People have also come up to me and scolded me, accusing me of not having any dignity by eating in public when I am supposed to fast.

However, I have to admit, that this year was not as bad as I thought it would be because I spent most of my time at home. However, I was called an 'Anak Sial', 'Idiot child', and a pig all because I was caught having some candy, and I wore pants that had my tattoo showing, and also because of my piercings, I think. It does not really matter much to me anymore, because I have long forgiven you accusers, for the sake of humanity :)

After all, Hari Raya is about forgiving and repenting right? Anyways, here is just a little note to wish all my Muslim friends, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri!

Have a blast reminiscing the past, forgiving each other, and filling your bellies with loads and loads of goodies!

Here's an awesome Petronas video to end this post. Enjoy!

The green ribbon

Ever since I was a small kid, I liked cracking my knuckles, toes, back, neck, knees. You name it. It was not necessarily a habit, as I started doing it because I really liked the popping' sounds.

My mum hated it though, as she felt that it caused my joints to loosen. I was out to prove her wrong, so being the smart-alec that I was (HAH), I google-ed it and found that cracking was not harmful as I was merely relieving gas (no pun intended!) that was in between the joints.

However, I have to admit that overcome, I have become addicted to cracking my joints, and it has become so bad that if I don't crack my neck, back, fingers, knees and toes, I would feel weakened and would not be able to use that body part properly.

I do not know how I am going to overcome this addiction, but if you see me with a ribbon around my neck someday, please do not snip it off!

For those of you who have never heard of this story, YOU SHOULD!

The obsession is still on!

What happens when you leave a man alone in his office?

In this video, you get to see an officer boogie down to the song 'Nobody' by none other than the WonderGirls.

The fact that he was an male officer dancing alone in his office was simply amusing. However, I must say that he does deserve props for having to memorize the entire dance of the song. And not to forget the fact that he actually did the moves over and over again, just to have all of him (You'll get what I mean when you see the video) to be in sync with one another.

Simply an adorable idea!

He sure is enjoying himself! Look at how he sways his hips! He deserves to be on the original WonderGirl's vdeo! What'd you think?

Let's just hope his boss doesn't spot him on Youtube!

Just when I thought that the joke was on You

It's rarely that I show my 'Emo "I want to slit my wrist" depression' here. Okay, maybe not to the extend of slitting my wrists, because that's just plain dumb. But, I AM DEPRESSED.

Why? Because "someone" played a very mean April Fools prank on me.

It definitely took me by surprise. And the aftermath of the prank was so disastrous that it brought me close to tears.

No, I did not have Ryan Dunn from 'Homewrecker' to wreck my home, or play pranks on me. I believe that the prank was pretty much a 'test by someone 'up there''.

Or in simple words, I got pranked by
Technology.

I thought I would survive the entire day without being pranked or fooled. I was satisfied because for the entire day, I was home alone. I was one minute away from "April Fools Day" when Technology decided to teach me a lesson for pranking others every single year.

And so, Technology decided to hang my computer. My computer was out within seconds. The rope was so taut that it immediately brought blue to its face (go figure).

Why oh why must Technology play such a vicious prank on me?!?!?

So I spent the entire day, reformatting itIt felt so
pristine, if you should put it in words. But I wasn't any bit near the word happy.

Not only were all my photos gone (not really important, cause' I could get it from photobucket and facebook), my favourite websites were gone, my favourite videos were gone, my emoticons were gone and most importantly....

ALL MY SONGS WERE GONE!

I had 4.6 days of songs and all of them were gone! All my songs, including the recently added ones, by Cas Haley, Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey!

How can?!?!

I'm not in any mood till I get all my songs back.

But then again, watch this video!

There's a song stuck in my head

Have you ever been in a situation where you couldn't stop humming/whistling to this song stuck in your head? Fortunately, I do know the title of the song, and so all I had to do was to get it. But boy, was it stuck in my head forever!

You see, after watching the show Juno (Click Here!), I found myself humming/whistling to the song that was played at the end of the movie.

Why the song got stuck to my head, is because of it's simple catchy tune. Well, if you don't believe me, hear it for yourself.

This is the one that was played at the end of the movie:

And I suppose the tune is pretty much stuck to your head to eh?

Hahah!

Du Dududu Dududu DuduDudu

The Power of the Guitar

Well, I skipped the Thaipusam festival yesterday to hang out with Syuh and Raudah. You know the thing about these two people, is that we can all chill wherever we are, without having to worry what to do, what to say, or how long to spend there.

I met Syuh earlier at 12 to walk around causeway point, and despite it being a small chopping centre, we spent about an hour or so in just three shops! As always, there was the "deep talk" moment outside of Watsons. The places can never get any more awesome. Hahah.

Met Raudah who was with Farhan. Despite being famished, all of us were making fun of this bunch of twits who were sitting beside us. Farhan was the best for he stared at them with disdain, as though he was disgusted that such people existed. The best was how he kept looking at the girls' piercings and imitating their laughter. Then there was the new move of "sneezing, coughing and laughing at the same time". No person could do it, except for that twit girl.

Soon enough, Ayuni came and we were still talking about random stuff, of people in MacDonalds. When we finally made up our minds to eat, it was already four!

From there, it was the usual; Reminscing the past. It was funny as we recalled the stupid stuff we did. From the sneaking out of class to buy food, to the fights in class, to the anti-twit pledge, to our daily dosage of Ghost Stories. It was really funny and we were glad that all that happened. It was both good and bad though, that it did happened. Good being that we've all changed after that, and worked hard towards our goals. And bad being that, the fun's over.

Then we tried sharing ghost stories, but every story that was told seemed to be hilarious. Maybe it was because Raudah was stammering so much in English. Hahah.

Like I said, being with them, we didn't have to worry about what to do or say or even place to settle down. For we talked and laughed, laughed and talked till it was around 8.

Nothing could sum the day up except laughter and more laughter, and definitely when Raudah took a photo, thinking that we were all in it, but finally found out that she took it alone!

I do miss those times, and meeting up was definitely a fantastic idea. I do hope I'll never lose contact with both of them!

2E3 2006 and 4E3 2008, when's our clas reunion? Tell me!!!!

Hahah, okay enough about the outing, more on to music.

Okay, I missed the first part of Live n' Loaded and after watching the encore telecast of it, I realized that the band "For This Cycle" is really nice!

It gives the very warm setting, like someone sitting in a lounge, with orange walls, rattan chairs , ceiling fan that swings lazily, by the sea. You get me? I totally lost the proper words to describe it lah, so do description of the room loh.

Anyway, speaking of music, I really love how the simple instrument, such as a guitar, can be used to make various types of sounds to make MUSIC.

Just watch these videos if you have no clue as to what I'm saying.

The power of the guitar and the recording thingy!

And definitely one of my favourite artists, KT Tunstall, who does her performances entirely by herself. A true SOLO ARTIST. Hahah. And she sounds so much better live.

The thing about shoes

That video (above) is freakin' FUNNEH (
bo liao if you want to call it). The guy who's driving really sounds like Mandark from Dexter's Laboratory in Cartoon Network (Yes, I do watch it. And I love behaving like Dee Dee (even though I fail horribly at it) to irritate my brothers and mum. Hahah)

Anyway, there's like 9 million views on the video! Ultimate crazy people in a car. Hahah.

Okay, moving on.

As the title says, it's all about shoes.

shoes Pictures, Images and Photos

Well, I'm not really worked up over sneakers or guy shoes, what I'm pissed is all those fancy girly shoes.

Shoes Pictures, Images and Photos

I find that shoes are one of the points that makes you look attractive. And even though I don't go for heels, I like pretty decorated ones every once in a while.

But being a long feet that I am, there always isn't sizes for me! Most sizes stop at 7. Only if I'm lucky, then I'll get 7 and a half or 8.

It's really frustrating sometimes to happily choose the shoes you want, and then be told by the salesgirl "sorry miss, there isn't 7 1/2 or 8".

Singapore should start having shops with shoes for big feet soon, or I'll start tying my feet to this.

56 Pictures, Images and Photos

But then again, I don't want my feet to look like this.

6feet Pictures, Images and Photos

The few shops that have shoes for big feet are shops like Cotton On and Mondo. But with only two shops, everything looks the same. I'll start my own shoe shop soon.

Yeah right...

On a happier note, I've got my lower lip pierced! I'm really happy because I got it for free! And it looks like this. That's not me of course.

Lip Piercing Pictures, Images and Photos

I'm going over next week to get my nose and tongue (maybe) pierced too. I'm excited.

Museum Of Life

Okay, I have heard of the "Temple Of Life" in modern days, sung by Avril Lavigne. I am sure most of you heard the song too.

But, have you heard of the "Museum of Life"?No, it's not another song done by Avril Lavigne. In fact, it is not a song at all!

What I am talking about is Thailand's Life Museum.

<span class=

Now what is so interesting about this museum is that, unlike the other museums that we go to, that has photos and antiques of the past, this museum actually has corpses of humans displayed there!

These are not normal humans, but actually of those who suffer from Aids. Working alongside this museum, is a temple called "Aids Temple". This temple was initially a Buddhist Temple, but was later converted "into a small hospice to care for fully blown AIDS patients".

If you want to read more about the temple, and would like to lend a helping hand, Click Here!

You can also watch a video of a documentary done with a few patients living in the temple.

Do read the website as it has many interesting facts about the reason as to why "Thailand is ranked as the Fourth in terms of most AIDS patients per head of population".

Simplified version:

  • Rural area, education level is low, thus farmers have no idea as to how to protect themselves against Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
  • "It has long been in the Thai culture for men to sleep with prostitutes". The females are mainly the wives who contracted the diseases from their husbands. In turn, the kids are affected.
  • "Thailand is a society where conservative appearances are deceiving. Drug use is rampant and there is virtually no education towards the use of needles".
  • "The support for AIDS patients is negligible". Families are basically afraid of catching AIDS by being around the AIDS infected ones.

Sad but true.

Read more of it here!

* The ones that are placed "like this" are quotes lifted off of the site.

Anyway, as we all know, AIDS is not a joking matter. And to end this post, I would like to "enlighten" you by displaying photographs of the life in the museum and temple. The bodies were donated to the Life Museum by AIDS patients that have passed away.

Here goes.

<span class=

These are cremation ovens.

<span class=
And these are the thousands and thousands of bags of ashes. These are the ashes of the HIV patients.

"9 Thais die from AIDS every hour. 500 Thais contract HIV every day. It is estimated that there are one million HIV positive people in Thailand", as said by Dr. Alongkot Dikkapanyo.

<span class=
Speaking of innocent children who die, this is Panida Kumrat. She was one year, three months and 21 days old when she passed away. Her mother had infected her with the deadly virus.

<span class=
This is also another child, James, who died at the age of five.

<span class=

<span class=

This is the corpse of Miraporn Chindatong. "She died of AIDS at the age of 24. She was infected by "providing sex" as it says on her vitreous coffin. Miraporn's last will had been to donate her body to science, for "educational means" to help others".

<span class=

Now if you think that contracting AIDS is a joke, then see how this man suffer(ed) as he spend his last few days in struggle. There is in fact, 10 000 people who are on the waiting list to get care and a bed in the hospice.

Now on more photos. I'll let them to the talking, or at least the frightening.

Tooth Paste

Have you guys watched "Storm Chasers" on Discovery Channel?

Man, I love that show. I love it when these teams set off to do what others would think dumb of, to chase after storms, and capture them on video. The team(above) is actually trying to be IN a tornado, and capture footage of it. And after watching this show, I realized that, even though tornadoes cause huge destruction, they are actually pretty beautiful to look at.

To tell you the truth, I myself am a chaser. No, not a Storm chaser, but a 'Cicak Chaser'.

Just like the storm chasers, I have a radar (Junior, my dog. He sniffs around and when there's one, he'll wag his tail excitedly, and try to pry open the drawers or cabinets that the cicak is hiding in.) that tells me where the nearest Cicak is. And instead of setting up pods to capture the "storm", I throw mothballs in, and then attack it head on with my handy-dandy Sheildtox.

I can't help it, Cicaks love me. And as beautiful as some of them are, the household cicaks are a big No-No.

So far, I have killed millions with my partner in crime, Junior. I killed one with a slipper. I threw one out of the window, and even chopped one of by slamming my window against it. I even microwaved one. Man, the explosion was like
POW!

I hate cicaks, especially after one of them slept with me!

Now don't get it wrong, Cicak Man is not my son.

What I mean, is that I woke up with a cicak staring straight back at me, and it was on my covers!

And so, I started cicak-chasing ever since. You can join if you want. Hahaha.

Anyway, off to today's topic: Toothpaste.

Click Here to read about it in Wikipedia!

I know you must be thinking "
Wah lao, first dead people, then cicak story, then now toothpaste?!? Si bei bo liao lah. "

Well, my friend, toothpaste is actually a very interesting topic. And I bet you'll learn something after reading this post.

But before I begin, let me ask you a question.. Do you know how the tubes of the toothpaste produces this (Below) when you squeeze the tube? I mean is there any mechanism that causes the toothpaste to not be mixed up?

Okay, here was what happened. As always, I woke up in the afternoon and headed to the toilet. My mum bought us a new toothpaste, and I was the first one to use it! Nevermind..

Sidetrack: I love toothpaste. Especially Kodomo's Grape flavour because it tastes like Bubble Gum.

But I've stopped using them since I was 7, after my mum realized that my brothers and I eating them more than we were using them to brush our teeth. We use the coloured ones now, because it looks more like candy than the normal Darlie toothpaste.

Anyway, back to my morning routine.

After squeezing the tube, the coloured toothpaste came out. And of all days, this was the day where this question striked me "How come the toothpaste isn't mixed up, and can come out of the tube in perfect design like this?"

Well, curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to try an experiment. No, I did not cut open the tube, even though I really wanted to. Instead, I squeezed the tube back and forth, and the toothpaste still came out in perfect design!

How can?!?!

So I decided to search it on the net, but instead of finding out how the tube works, I found these.

It's about half an hour long, and it is about kids who suffer from Fluorosis. It is a health condition caused by an overdose of fluoride. In its severe form it is characterized by black and brown stains, as well as cracking and pitting of the teeth.

If you want to know more about it, watch the video and read this!

Ah.. Now I'm in full regret of eating those Kodomo toothpaste.

So now you know, don't eat your toothpaste!

Oh, and before I leave, visit This Site. There are actually alot to know about toothpaste!

Have fun!

Car Jumper

edited: It seems like I get to keep this blog skin! I managed to make the fonts bigger and now I'm much more satisfied! But credit still goes to the person who created this skin!!

A new blog skin. I like the pictures but am not so satisfied with it because the fonts are pretty small. It's kinda' irritating sometimes when you have to squint the whole time, while trying to read the post. I'll change to another soon.

Anyway, my favorite past time, is to watch the Ellen DeGeneres Show. I'm a great fan of her show and am always eager to watch her shows at 1.00PM or at 5.00PM every week day. I love how she is able to make the audience laugh, and how much she cares for things, especially animals.

Anyway, there were a few episodes where she showed a video of a guy and later even asked him to come to her show. This guy's name is Chris Bryant and he is able of jumping over a car. Yes, literally jumping over a car!

He wanted to be in Ellen's show and was actually invited to come. At the show, he was then asked to jump over 5 cars consecutively. And he actually did it with great success!

But he dreams were not just to jump over cars all day. He worked as a Bus Boy and he wanted to be in a Nike Advertisement.

Ellen was so willing to help him that she called Nike again and again until someone, i think the CEO of NIKE, agreed to see Chris Bryant.

He was so successful that he actually managed to be sposored by Nike to jump over cars, as an advertisement. Don't believe me? Watch this.

Superb jumps isn't it?

He was a bus boy and now he is a walking advertisement. He is so popular right now that he has given talks to schools all over America.

Now, i want to jump as high as him too. Hahah.

Anyway, Christmas is in a couple of days. So I'll wish EVERYONE, a VERY MERRY Christmas, and A VERY HAPPY New Year!

Music Talent

I have been blog hopping and realised that every ones' talking about exams. From how it started off,to how it ended, or countdowns or something like that. Well, to make it different, i won't talk about exams here. Although A maths is the last paper on Monday, like whatever yeah?

What I am excited about is actually after the exams. No, I'm not going overseas or go on a shopping spree. I'm actually going to enrolled in a music class!
My mom has surprisingly approved of me taking up a music instrument again. Yes, again.

See, when i was young and was in primary school, i used to play the er hu.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

And yes, i was in Chinese orchestra. I never sat in the front row before because in the string section, only the captains got the first row. I got the second row. Hoho. What i loved about the er hu was that it could play all kinds of songs. I loved the oldies Chinese songs where the rhythm were fast-paced and soothing to the ears. The er hu could also play English songs, especially Christmas songs.

I never really got to complete learning the er hu because i was plain lazy, not wanting to go for the lessons and all, but i still did manage to catch up with what the rest were learning.

But somehow after primary 4, i totally backed out of it. Because i was enrolled at causeway point's music school, learning the organ.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I was enrolled in both the Chinese orchestra and organ class at the same age. But my heart took me away from Chinese orchestra and closer to organ. I managed to jump a grade or two when i was taking the grading exams. But I had to quit at 10 years old, because my parents couldn't afford the constant upgrading of the organ. I was sad and pissed off. But i realised that family comes first and self-recreation. And so i quit.

The urge to grab an instrument and start learning about it, came so often to my mind. And at the ripe age of 10, i was exposed to heavy metal music, where i grew fondly in love with the drums.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Drums are great instruments and are also important in a band because they provide the main rhythm and beat. Without the rhythm, no song can be sung, and no tune can be created, unless you're doing acapella.
And the thought of playing the drums by a female was hot. Hahaha, it was cool.

But my parents strongly disapproved and said that i could only take up drums when we shifted to a bungalow in a few years time. And so, i wait patiently.

BUT, aside from the drums, i always fell in love with the electric guitar.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

They were cool but yet again, my parents disapproved of it and thus only allowed me to enrol myself for normal guitar lessons.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I am a little disappointed but at least i get to play a music instrument, like finally.

I'm sue this post is getting rather boring. And so, I'll end off with an interesting video.

HOW TO ESCAPE FART. Enjoy!

Orange Cast

Okay,i've uploaded the cast pictures in photobucket, so i'll upload them here!

The cast isn't that orange anymore. Because it has "vandalism" as said by KOK TEETH.

Anyway, here are the pictures.

This is the Front view

This is the side view, with spongebob.

This is the other side view, with Patrick.

This is the back view. I tried REALLY hard to turn it to the back. It was HARD.

This is the close up of PATRICK!!

And this is the close up of SPONGEBOB

My coach wanted to sign but ended up drawing this for me. She wrote this words “ VB (short for volleyball, like duh) did this to me!”

Jogina signed her name off to me! Brittle bones and sotong2, which are my new nicknames.

Jogina also wrote my name down.

Jogina also drew this retarded girl, for I-don’t-know-what reason

And the grosses part:

Jogina wrote this after seeing that I really had dirty soles.

This is what it’s meant when jogina wrote that “dirty soles beware”. This is DIRTY.

note: For those who want to view the pictures clearly, click to enlarge. hahaha, click on the last one!

And i found this really cute video. It's like cartoony type. But i find it sorta' ,aking fun of the malay race. hahah, any way, it's pretty funny.
