Crooked Brains

I actually had a bunch of links that I wanted to show in this post. However, the list decided to expand by itself over time.

At first, I did not understand why the site was named as how it was, but I soon understood. I have decided to leave with one, and only one link in this post, so that you can go crazy from there.

Click Here to visit Crooked Brains!

The pictures and topics there can pretty much make your brains a little crooked from all the clicking, I swear. It's an almost similar version to Stumble Upon, but this lacks the recommended sites.

Enjoy!

It is also place in "Sites I Love" so that you can visit it even when this posts disappears in the archives.

When Beauty became the Beast

It's in the middle of the night and you can't sleep. You're tossing and turning in bed and it wouldn't make matters any better if you're perspiring profusely too.

So what do you do?

You could..

A) Make friends with someone who, just like you, is awake. It'll be a bonus if he/she is just as curious to know of the littlest things in life. Then, get all paranoid by discussing about creatures that irks you. If the conversation is worth the time, your friend might even do research on that topic!

or...

B) Go to Stumble Upon! (This is not a paid advertisement. I just love this site a lot.)

This is a fantastic site that is sure to remove boredom from your life. Not only do they have articles, they have videos, photos and many more! With articles ranging from Arts to Sports you'll definitely find an interest in one of the 12 categories and might even lose yourself when you venture off into the sub-categories of each one!

And better yet, if you do sign up as a member (it's free) and fill in your interests, they'll even send 'recommended sites'(based on your interest) to your email, so that you need not go through the hassle of finding articles you are interested in.

Anyway, being bored as usual, I decided to check out on frogs (don't bother asking why frogs got my interest) and was I amazed of the vibrant colours the poisonous ones had!

But then curiosity got the better of me and I coundn't control my hands. I had to click on the freaky and weird ones, and this is what I got:

(Let's start with the decent ones shall we?)

This is a Cruziohyla calcarifer.

This is a Pouched Frog (Assa darlingtoni)

These are Argus Reed Frog or African Reed Frog (Hyperolius argus)

This is a Heterixalus alboguttatus

These are Argentine Horned Frog (Ceratophrys ornata)

This is a Ishikawa's Frog (Odorrana ishikawae)

This is an African Bullfrog (Pyxicephalus adspersus)

This is a Long-nosed Horned Frog (Megophrys nasuta)

I actually think that this looks pretty cool for a frog.

This is a Solomon Island leaf Frog (Ceratobatrachus guentheri)

And on to the nasty ones!

These are Ranita De Cristal (Cochranella albomaculata)

Their insides can really be seen!

These are Waxy Monkey Leaf Frog (Phyllomedusa sauvagii)

I kind of like this one too. They look like laid back monkey or monks, only green.

This is a Crucifix Toad or Holy Cross Frog (Notaden bennettii)

It really defines the term ' Cute'; Ugly, but adorable.

These are Suriname Toad (Pipa pipa)

So flat!

This is a Turtle Frog (Myobatrachus gouldii)

This is a Budgett's Frogs (Lepidobatrachus laevis)

It looks so SLIMY..

And last but not least.....

The Purple Frog (Nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis)

To find out more about these frogs, Click Here!

Or you could check them out on Wiki.

Doesn't all that make your eye twitch, and want to go to bed badly? I feel the same too.

Tooth Paste

Have you guys watched "Storm Chasers" on Discovery Channel?

Man, I love that show. I love it when these teams set off to do what others would think dumb of, to chase after storms, and capture them on video. The team(above) is actually trying to be IN a tornado, and capture footage of it. And after watching this show, I realized that, even though tornadoes cause huge destruction, they are actually pretty beautiful to look at.

To tell you the truth, I myself am a chaser. No, not a Storm chaser, but a 'Cicak Chaser'.

Just like the storm chasers, I have a radar (Junior, my dog. He sniffs around and when there's one, he'll wag his tail excitedly, and try to pry open the drawers or cabinets that the cicak is hiding in.) that tells me where the nearest Cicak is. And instead of setting up pods to capture the "storm", I throw mothballs in, and then attack it head on with my handy-dandy Sheildtox.

I can't help it, Cicaks love me. And as beautiful as some of them are, the household cicaks are a big No-No.

So far, I have killed millions with my partner in crime, Junior. I killed one with a slipper. I threw one out of the window, and even chopped one of by slamming my window against it. I even microwaved one. Man, the explosion was like
POW!

I hate cicaks, especially after one of them slept with me!

Now don't get it wrong, Cicak Man is not my son.

What I mean, is that I woke up with a cicak staring straight back at me, and it was on my covers!

And so, I started cicak-chasing ever since. You can join if you want. Hahaha.

Anyway, off to today's topic: Toothpaste.

Click Here to read about it in Wikipedia!

I know you must be thinking "
Wah lao, first dead people, then cicak story, then now toothpaste?!? Si bei bo liao lah. "

Well, my friend, toothpaste is actually a very interesting topic. And I bet you'll learn something after reading this post.

But before I begin, let me ask you a question.. Do you know how the tubes of the toothpaste produces this (Below) when you squeeze the tube? I mean is there any mechanism that causes the toothpaste to not be mixed up?

Okay, here was what happened. As always, I woke up in the afternoon and headed to the toilet. My mum bought us a new toothpaste, and I was the first one to use it! Nevermind..

Sidetrack: I love toothpaste. Especially Kodomo's Grape flavour because it tastes like Bubble Gum.

But I've stopped using them since I was 7, after my mum realized that my brothers and I eating them more than we were using them to brush our teeth. We use the coloured ones now, because it looks more like candy than the normal Darlie toothpaste.

Anyway, back to my morning routine.

After squeezing the tube, the coloured toothpaste came out. And of all days, this was the day where this question striked me "How come the toothpaste isn't mixed up, and can come out of the tube in perfect design like this?"

Well, curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to try an experiment. No, I did not cut open the tube, even though I really wanted to. Instead, I squeezed the tube back and forth, and the toothpaste still came out in perfect design!

How can?!?!

So I decided to search it on the net, but instead of finding out how the tube works, I found these.

It's about half an hour long, and it is about kids who suffer from Fluorosis. It is a health condition caused by an overdose of fluoride. In its severe form it is characterized by black and brown stains, as well as cracking and pitting of the teeth.

If you want to know more about it, watch the video and read this!

Ah.. Now I'm in full regret of eating those Kodomo toothpaste.

So now you know, don't eat your toothpaste!

Oh, and before I leave, visit This Site. There are actually alot to know about toothpaste!

Have fun!

Blog Awards ceremony

Well, unfortunately the judges weren't impressed with my song and I did not win the "Youth Blogger" title. I want to cry so badly...

Hahaha, no, I'm kidding. I wasn't expecting to win, and like I said before it is already a priviledge to be amongst the Top 10 Youth Blogger finalists in Singapore.
I had a great time, especially for the Movie screenings and the Ghost Festival Post.

But,

Congratulations to Cheryl aka. Witch Yuki for winning the Youth Blogger title!

Anyway, the ceremony was great. It was located at the Asian Civilisation Museum and I brought my mum there with me. We entered the River Room and were greeted with Food! Yes, we had a buffet dinner there before the results were released.

The food wasn't too bad, there was a variety of food, but some of them actually fell short of taste. But it was still okay.

After the meal, my mum and I headed out to the balcony for a breather and was taken away by the beautiful scene before us. It was basically just the buildings in Raffles, but it seemed as though they came alive in the Night Life. I looked down from the balcony and saw a beautiful restaurant that had a very "cool" ambience, where guests were seated very much like a Lounge Room, but it was outdoors. It set a very dark atmosphere as the sofas were black and there were minimal light present, only from the BLue glow from the frosted bar table.

I was about snap a photo of it, but before I could, we were actually asked to head back inside as the ceremony was starting.

One reason why I hate going to "gatherings" like this, is because if you hardly know anyone, you would be darn lonely. And for my mum and I, we weren't really paying much attention to it, because we were tired of standing (yes, that's the only critic I have, no chairs!) and we were checking out the different types of people there. David Gan, the famous hairstylist was present, and boy, he sure was one great character!

Anyway, the only person that I talked to, at the event, was the Events Co-odinator for the event. He asked how the Food and Ambience were, and why I was here. He was Hot! Hahah.

But speaking about the ambience, it was really a "romantic" or rather soothing scene, and I especially liked the Lights.

The ceremony ended on time, at nine, and I was one of the "kiasu" ones to leave, and so I didn't stay for the photo-taking sessions.

But once I stepped out of the Museum, a strong gust of wind crossed my path, and blew us to Indonesia + China + Thailand = ?

Photobucket

I closed my eyes, and chanted repeatedly "there's no place like home", and when I opened my eyes, I was at another place!

Check out the White House..

Photobucket

It does look like Singapore's Fullerton Hotel though.. Hmm..

Anyway, I wandered around, and had some lovely chats with the locals there.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Really hardworking, and lovely people. I had a great time there, I even went swimming with a bunch of cute, naked boys! My mum couldn't help but burst into fits of laughter when she saw the little kids' exposed "brothers".

Photobucket

When I got up to dry off, I was mesmerized by a beautiful lamp post

Photobucket

And before I knew it, I was back in Singapore, standing near the Fullerton's Hotel!

Photobucket

The Esplanade, the Singapore Flyer, and some other beautiful buildings.

Photobucket

And the pretty fountain at the Entrance of Fullerton Hotel

Photobucket

It sounds very much like the Wizard of OZ, but this time there weren't any OZ nor wizard. But I was exhausted, and so I headed home, in the magical "Harry Potter" train with my mum.

And that was how my day ended.

Bye, loves.

How can Omy.sg do this to me?

I feel really depressed. If you read my previous day's entry, you would have realized that two kind souls actually stayed up till 12am to help me out with my pictures for om.sg (promoting of voting phase for top 10 finalists).

Photobucket

In fact, Shera was still up at 3am to send me the finalized piece. I'm really touched and I am going to get something for both Khairul and Shera to thank them, of course.

Anyway, I woke up this morning and eagerly switched on my computer to send the 2 pictures to Omy.sg. In case you're wondering what's with the taking of pictures, it's actually a "project" to aid omy.sg in publicizing the voting phase, and thus we have to take 2 pictures of our hands, doing something that symbolizes blogging.

I came up with two ideas and snapped some pictures of my hand, keyboard and newspaper articles, before sending it to Shera and Khiarul. They noted every single detail that I wanted and this is what the 2 finalized piece looks like.

Photobucket

The first picture actually consists of my hand, a keyboard and a newspaper article on famous blogger, mr Brown. The hand on keyboard is actually acting as a surfer, who surfs (the net) for news on latest blog posts and famous bloggers.

Photobucket

The second picture consist of my hand, on a keyboard, with the words only as B L O G. this shows that bloggers definitely need their hands on the keyboard 24/7 as they're addicted to blogging.

I sent my pictures to marketing@omy.sg and happily switched off my computer before heading to school.

I got home later at 7pm and was devastated when I checked my email.

Hi, attached are my 2 pictures to aid in the publicizing of the voting phase. The first picture is of my hand, on a keyboard, gliding on a news paper article about bloggers. I feel the hand on keyboard represents the whole "surfing the net" and the newspaper artcle represents bloggers, as well as news for fellow bloggers to blog about. The second picture, is of my hand, on a keyboard which only reads the letters B L O G. I think that this really shows that bloggers are addicted to blogging. I hope like the pictures! Thanks, Kethlyn"

Apparently omy.sg's email is full and I cannot send in my pictures!!! Furthermore, it's already 8pm and the dateline was at 6pm! How can!!!

I'm really disappointed. There goes Shera and Khairul's effort in helping me, and there goes mine, in wishing to aid in the publicizing.

I'm really sad now, I hope Omy.sg comes up with some solution quick.

Orange Cast

Okay,i've uploaded the cast pictures in photobucket, so i'll upload them here!

The cast isn't that orange anymore. Because it has "vandalism" as said by KOK TEETH.

Anyway, here are the pictures.

This is the Front view

This is the side view, with spongebob.

This is the other side view, with Patrick.

This is the back view. I tried REALLY hard to turn it to the back. It was HARD.

This is the close up of PATRICK!!

And this is the close up of SPONGEBOB

My coach wanted to sign but ended up drawing this for me. She wrote this words “ VB (short for volleyball, like duh) did this to me!”

Jogina signed her name off to me! Brittle bones and sotong2, which are my new nicknames.

Jogina also wrote my name down.

Jogina also drew this retarded girl, for I-don’t-know-what reason

And the grosses part:

Jogina wrote this after seeing that I really had dirty soles.

This is what it’s meant when jogina wrote that “dirty soles beware”. This is DIRTY.

note: For those who want to view the pictures clearly, click to enlarge. hahaha, click on the last one!

And i found this really cute video. It's like cartoony type. But i find it sorta' ,aking fun of the malay race. hahah, any way, it's pretty funny.

Enjet enjet semut, siap sakit naik atas.
