The green ribbon

Ever since I was a small kid, I liked cracking my knuckles, toes, back, neck, knees. You name it. It was not necessarily a habit, as I started doing it because I really liked the popping' sounds.

My mum hated it though, as she felt that it caused my joints to loosen. I was out to prove her wrong, so being the smart-alec that I was (HAH), I google-ed it and found that cracking was not harmful as I was merely relieving gas (no pun intended!) that was in between the joints.

However, I have to admit that overcome, I have become addicted to cracking my joints, and it has become so bad that if I don't crack my neck, back, fingers, knees and toes, I would feel weakened and would not be able to use that body part properly.

I do not know how I am going to overcome this addiction, but if you see me with a ribbon around my neck someday, please do not snip it off!

For those of you who have never heard of this story, YOU SHOULD!

Is Love Really Blind?

I was blog-hopping as usual when I came across a meaningful post from iWicked Chronicles. The post was set in a time before humans existed, where virtues and vices roamed Earth freely. It talked about how the saying "Love is Blind" cam about.

And this is how the story began.....

This is dedicated to everyone.

Part 3

Part One can be found here, while Part Two, can be found Here!

"Okay, time is up! Stop writing and hand in your scripts!" Mrs Jones walked down each row of the students seated in the classroom, glaring at whoever who did not stop writing.

"Jo! Put your pen down, or else you will get a big fat ZERO!" Mrs Jones smacked Jo on her hand, which caused her pen that she was holding, to fall onto the floor.

"BITCH!"

"Now Jo, I have never seen you so engrossed in your work, but do keep in mind that I will reward you no extra time just because you ARE doing your work", Mrs Jones said in a rather disdain manner, as she collected the scripts. She headed back to her desk and began counting them one by one.

Well, it was true that it was the first time Jo was so engrossed in her work. Jo never liked doing her work and would often chance at the opportunity to skip class or pretend to be sick. You see, Jo's name was actually Josephine. She, unlike most girls, never wore dresses. She had shiny black hair that was cropped and spiked. She wore chains as belts, baggy pants, boxer shorts, cuffs and worn-out gloves. People often mistook her for a boy, but she didn't mind, because she always liked the "tough" look.

Jo was breathing fire. She banged her fist hard on her desk before leaving the class. This was the first time that Jo did do her work, and as much as she hated to admit, she really liked how free-willed she could express her thoughts and emotions in her essay. But she hated how she did not have the time to complete it. And one reason to why she actually did try to finish her essay was because of Mr. Petes. He was the Principal and he told her that she had to pass at least English if she wanted to Graduate by the end of the year.

Jo hated feeling pissed, and so, decided to head to her usual hangout to cool down; the basketball court. She saw a couple of her friends who were having a match over there, and thought about joining them.

"Hey Jo! Come meet Jacky! He just moved in here, and he sure can play ball!" shouted Nick who made a beautiful three-pointer that swiftly went into the hoop, making the chains of the net dance as they touch the basketball.

Jacky held out his hand to shake with Jo's but all she did was to snatch the ball from Ron who was making his way to Nick and Jacky. Jo never said a word and continued in her own game.

"Must be a bad day" shrugged Nick as he tapped Jacky on the shoulder as comfort.

Ron then suggested to have a quick match and all of them agreed. Ron paired up with Jo, leaving Jacky with Nick. The game started off and Jacky quickly learned that street basketball wasn't like how he played back in his school. There was more contact and it was much more rough.

"The first to reach seven wins!" shouted Nick.

The teams were tied six to six. The ball was in Jo's hands. She dribbled. Nick was blocking all ways possible for the ball to be passed to Ron. Jack moved closer to defend Jo. Jo was pushing hard against him, pushing him in the chest. It was hard, and it hurt, but Jacky wasn't going to let them call him a sissy.

He tried his best to not let Jo anywhere near the hoop. His spread his arms wide in defence, and decided to play dirty, just like how Jo did to him. He pushed hard at Jo's chest, and could not believe. He stood still, in shock. Jo took the chance and did a beautiful shot. Jo's team won.

"Hey, you're supposed to defend her! Remember?" Nick ran up to Jacky and slapped him hard on the back.

"Nick.... Jo's... Jo's a girl!" said Jacky almost feeling embarrassed that he did that.

Nick and Ron burst out laughing and couldn't help but laugh even harder at Jacky's confused face.

"Didn't you know? Jo's a girl! But she sure can play basketball".

It was true. Jo could play basketball. Jacky had never seen a girl play so well before, she definitely was better than the girls, and even most of the boys back in his school team.

All were silent when Jo came over to them. Jacky got up and said "Hey, I didn't mean to... you know."

Jo tried to act tough, and faked a low voice, saying "It's okay. But do it again and I'll bust your brains out, you hear me?" Both of them giggled and then headed over to Jo's house where she invited them for dinner.

Once Upon A Time..

There was once a little girl, Katie, who lived in a little house in a faraway land.

Katie was beautiful. She had black hair that flowed opulently down her back. Her face was doll-like, with flawless skin and eyes that resembled shimmering opals. She was a quiet and shy child and no one could hardly hear her speak. But when she did, it was like magic. Such mellifluous voice could embrace anyone with so much warmth, that it could melt your heart. She was adorable, and she had the passion to sing.

And even though it seemed so picture-perfect, Katie was not happy at all. She was a poor orphan who lived with a stranger. The stranger was her saviour, because he was the one who pitied and sheltered her from the streets where the vicious war had left her, without a single relative.

The saviour went by the name of Mr. Jonkins. He was a stout old man, with calloused fingers that wobbled as he heaved himself about with a walking stick. He was as ancient as a grandfather clock and every step seeped energy out of him, making him breathless. Thus, he could not work. And so, Katie was his servant.

But Katie did not mind. In fact, she was delighted that she could repay his kindness by taking care of him. She was clad in dirty old rags that wrapped around her fine body, revealing her slender and feminine physique. She scrubbed at the tiles on the floor, washed the toilet, made the bed, and even massaged the old man every single day.

She was never bored and she never complained. All she did, was sing, while she did her chores. Her singing entertained the old man, and he often praised her. She was always as delighted at receiving his comments, as a kid receiving candy.

She promised herself that she would continue singing, so long as the old man lived.

But things took a dratic turn one day, when ......

Hey, I know it's pretty random to be story-telling here. But I've always wanted to share "self-created stories" in my blog. I'm not good at it, but I'll still try to improve.

The reason why I love stories so much is because it is very much like our Lives.
Stories are created with our own twists and ending. And our lives too are created with twists and ending. How we respond to each action in Life, determines the next chapter of the story.

All of our lives are stories yet to be completed. And it is definitely up to us, to decide what happens next.

Blog Awards ceremony

Well, unfortunately the judges weren't impressed with my song and I did not win the "Youth Blogger" title. I want to cry so badly...

Hahaha, no, I'm kidding. I wasn't expecting to win, and like I said before it is already a priviledge to be amongst the Top 10 Youth Blogger finalists in Singapore.
I had a great time, especially for the Movie screenings and the Ghost Festival Post.

But,

Congratulations to Cheryl aka. Witch Yuki for winning the Youth Blogger title!

Anyway, the ceremony was great. It was located at the Asian Civilisation Museum and I brought my mum there with me. We entered the River Room and were greeted with Food! Yes, we had a buffet dinner there before the results were released.

The food wasn't too bad, there was a variety of food, but some of them actually fell short of taste. But it was still okay.

After the meal, my mum and I headed out to the balcony for a breather and was taken away by the beautiful scene before us. It was basically just the buildings in Raffles, but it seemed as though they came alive in the Night Life. I looked down from the balcony and saw a beautiful restaurant that had a very "cool" ambience, where guests were seated very much like a Lounge Room, but it was outdoors. It set a very dark atmosphere as the sofas were black and there were minimal light present, only from the BLue glow from the frosted bar table.

I was about snap a photo of it, but before I could, we were actually asked to head back inside as the ceremony was starting.

One reason why I hate going to "gatherings" like this, is because if you hardly know anyone, you would be darn lonely. And for my mum and I, we weren't really paying much attention to it, because we were tired of standing (yes, that's the only critic I have, no chairs!) and we were checking out the different types of people there. David Gan, the famous hairstylist was present, and boy, he sure was one great character!

Anyway, the only person that I talked to, at the event, was the Events Co-odinator for the event. He asked how the Food and Ambience were, and why I was here. He was Hot! Hahah.

But speaking about the ambience, it was really a "romantic" or rather soothing scene, and I especially liked the Lights.

The ceremony ended on time, at nine, and I was one of the "kiasu" ones to leave, and so I didn't stay for the photo-taking sessions.

But once I stepped out of the Museum, a strong gust of wind crossed my path, and blew us to Indonesia + China + Thailand = ?

I closed my eyes, and chanted repeatedly "there's no place like home", and when I opened my eyes, I was at another place!

Check out the White House..

It does look like Singapore's Fullerton Hotel though.. Hmm..

Anyway, I wandered around, and had some lovely chats with the locals there.

Really hardworking, and lovely people. I had a great time there, I even went swimming with a bunch of cute, naked boys! My mum couldn't help but burst into fits of laughter when she saw the little kids' exposed "brothers".

When I got up to dry off, I was mesmerized by a beautiful lamp post

And before I knew it, I was back in Singapore, standing near the Fullerton's Hotel!

The Esplanade, the Singapore Flyer, and some other beautiful buildings.

And the pretty fountain at the Entrance of Fullerton Hotel

It sounds very much like the Wizard of OZ, but this time there weren't any OZ nor wizard. But I was exhausted, and so I headed home, in the magical "Harry Potter" train with my mum.

And that was how my day ended.

Bye, loves.

Alkaff

Okay, people. I'm back. Let me update you guys on the events about the camp. No wait, let me tell a story about it, with pictures of course.

Here goes:

Once upon a time, there lived a King and a Queen in a kingdom called Alkaff.

Now although they were pronounced as King and Queen, they weren't married at all. The reason behind it was, well, unknown.

But one thing that everyone knew about the King was that, he always had problems with his shoe. Tying it, to be specific. And he would cause a whole lot of distractions just because he had to squat down to tie his shoe lace.

But aside from all this, the King and Queen devoted most of their time, energy and of course, money, to their adopted kids. They were the Pwinces and Pwincesses( note that i did not use Princes and Princesses because one of the prince had difficulty in pronouncing the letter "R" and insisted that everyone be called like that. Not funny okay.)

The Queen had her favourite Pwincess and often praised her, giving her the best and most expensive stuff. She was the apple of the Queen's eye.

Now, the King also had favourites too. And he had four favourite PWINCES.

Although they were Pwinces and Pwincesses, they were shy at times, but most of the time, very noisy, chaotic and rowdy. The King and Queen were very upset and hired two Royal Leaders. These two Leaders were to ensure that the pwinces and pwincesses were ready to give a few performances for the "Great fire festival", later on in the night.

Now at first, when the Royal Leaders met the Pwinces and Pwincesses, they wanted to break down and cry! It was tough trying to handle all of them, for the fact that they did not listen to instructions, rueld their own path, and felt that thr Royal Leaders were very boring. It seemed as though the Pwinces and Pwincesses had stepped over their heads and took over!

So on the same afternoon, one of the Royal Leaders, kethlyn, started lecturing them. Throughout the whole afternoon nag, the Pwinces and Pwincesses were silent. Here is the conversation between kethlyn and the Pwinces and Pwincesses.

K=Kethlyn, P&P=Pwinces & Pwincesse

K:
I know that you guys think that all of this suck. In order for you to gain my respect and stop yelling at you, i need your respect. Listen for my instructions. So far in the other Kingdoms, all of the other Royal Leaders have set rules and regulations for their Pwinces and Pwincesses. But i have not, have i? I know all fo you are still teenagers but you have to have discipline some times. In order for the Pwinces and Pwincesses of Alkaff to rock, i need your full co-operation. Wheni tell all fo you to keep silent, be silent. When i tell you to listen up, all of you have to listen up. In order for Alkaff to rock, you need to work together, leave no one out. This is called Teamwork. Without Teamwork, Alkaff would fall. Wouldn't you agree? In order for all of you to have fun, you need to listen first and complete your task, then i'll allow you to have fun. Is that okay????

P&P: Yes.......

K: Awww, you all seem lifeless already?? Is that okay!!??!!

P&P: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From then on, the pwincesses and pwinces worked together as a team, no one was left out. And everyone was enjoying their time together. They were WHOLE.

Then, night came, and all the Pwinces and Pwincesse sat around the campfire, together with the King and Queen of course.

The pwincesse and Pwinces of Alkaff performed infront of the King and Queen, and one special quest, whom i later found out, was named as Mr Siva. He was the Head of Discipline for the Kingdom of Alkaff.

The "Great fire festival" went off in a spark. It was terrific and everyone enjoyed themselves. Then, it was the evaluation for the Pwinces and Pwincesses of Alkaff.

King and Queen:
I am very proud of every single pwinces and pwincesses tonight! Bravo! Hopefully, you can keep up the great work!

Everyone gaved a standing ovation to the Pwinces and Pwincesses, as well as the two Royal Leaders. However, all good things must come to an end. The two Royal Leaders were sent to another Kingdom to work for another King.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back in the kitchen when the"great fire festival" was taking place, Voluntary servants were complaining of the boredom invading them.

Everyone in the kitchen were gloomy, sad and bored.

This chap over here, regretted for volunteering himself. He was pissed off indeed.

Some were so stressed out, that they thought of ending their life.

This chap even tried smsing to home, to get him out of that place.

But unfortunately, there was an evil Spellcaster who kept a close eye on everyone and reported verything to the King.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The story of the Pwinces and Pwincesses ended in a "happily ever after" mode. Where they contined to impress the Kings and Queens from all Kingdom, through the 3 simple rules of life:

To have
1. Discipline
2.Responsibility
3.Resilience

But not every story ends in a happy ending. The servants however, were cooped up in cages where they had to work day and night, under the watchful eyes of the Spellcaster.

The end.

If you read all the way through, congratualtions! You have reached the end of the post. Please bare in mind that all the events held during camp were replaced with my own creations. All of the above is NOT true. Stupid.
