I remember how much I dread going to art class since Sec 1. Don't get me wrong, I love Art. But I somehow was afraid of going to art class, because the teachers' standard of marking were so strict. In Art, you had to be Perfect, making this look proportionate, having to have the shadings done right so that the picture doesn't have the light shining at a wrong position, or the ratio of the bottle neck to the base of the base of the bottle done just right, so that it looks nice.
I always felt pressured in Art class because it never was like Primary school Art, where we could simply splatter paint all over the paper and our teachers would grade us with a job well done. But over time, I liked how much pressure I was in, and eventually fell in love with the Art classes because I learned that in Art, perfect isn't what the teacher wants, it's the amount of hard work, effort that you put into the art piece.
Well, I did some cleaning-up in my room and I managed to find some of my old art pieces. They're not really fantastic, but, I looked at them piece by piece, and noticed how much my drawing style has changed.
I hated doing "Know Drugs" art pieces, and this one was a combination of Chinese New Year and Know Drugs. I was willing to do a piece, but our teacher kept reminding those who didn't hand any in. It was better to and in than to get a big fat zero. Back then, grades were very important to me. Hahah. But this looks really pathetic because no effort was put into it.
I did this next piece and called it "My complicated Life". My Teacher gave us the choice to do anything, so long as it had something to do with strings. I drew a little man running along the strings, which are all messy and jumbled up. This shows that although the road is in front of us, we have a lot of problems ahead of us, because in Life, nothing goes as smooth as silk. I was quite an emo back then, hahah.
Our teacher, then took us to a level higher, by asking us to draw realistic items. I sucked at this big time, and often got pretty low marks for it, thus I gave a "bo-chap" attitude towards the following art pieces.
I felt really demoralized and wanted so hard to prove that I could draw well. And so I did the next piece, and got great remarks for it. I was so happy that I started improving a lot on myself.
After that piece, my teacher told us to start drawing things that had flowers with shadings. I was so excited because Flowers were my favorite and shadings were a plus point for it! I love shading because it made things look realistic.
I did the next two pieces and guess what, I got Full marks for it!!! A dream come true for me, because Art wasn't a subject that I could get full marks in.
Full marks baby!!
If you're wondering what shape the flowers are in, It's my hand.
I left secondary 2 with one of my favorite pieces, other than the above ones. But the marks were a bit of a disappointment though. I thought I deserved better marks and so I approached the examiner and she replied "are you testing my marking skills?" During the exams though, there were teachers crowding around my table. I thought that I was in deep trouble, because during exams, you shouldn't have teachers crowding around you. But by the end of the exams, Mr.Ni actually told me that he really liked my art piece and he wished me good luck in getting high marks for it. I hoped for high marks too, but I only scored a 80/100. Oh well.
The theme was to design a book cover and I did one with the title "The secret City", drawing a mermaid with building underwater to show that beneath the sea bed, mermaids and their cities do exist, just like "Little Mermaid".
The title
The Full version
I think my mermaid looks hot. Hahah
I was looking forward to Secondary three because I thought that there were art classes, but to my great disappointment, there weren't any. I guess my batch is for the science classes.
I think that by making my batch not have any art classes, great talents like Beverly, Boon Hong and Meiyin lose out on a great talent that can really bring them forth.
Anyway, The New Year is coming in less that 48 hours. I hope everyone do have a blessed New Year! Cheers.

No more races
I feel dreadful after re-reading the previous post. I'm fine now and I'd like to upload some videos.
See, I've been youtube-ing lately and I found some really cool videos of two brothers(Chinese) who play the sitar and tabla, which are Indian custom instruments, if you're wondering.
I've watched all the videos that they've uploaded and I must say, I'm impressed!!
See it for yourself!
Amazing isn't it? I think this two brothers have actually proven that they're not racist and that they're willing to except everyone as one race, the Human Race. I really like how one of the brother played the Sitar. I wanna' learn it too! hahah.
I guess I've got nothing else to blog about, and so I'll end here.
Toodles!

A bad christmas
This post will be a very emotional post, hope you don't mind.
This year has not been a very splendid year for me. Well, in fact, ever since I stepped in woodlands ring, life hasn't been really good for me. And this Christmas was the worst one ever.
My dad accidentally cut my dog somewhere near her eye and the cut has been to deep to stitch her up, adding to the fact that she just had a an operation last year and that she's as old ad 10 years old now. Well, on Christmas eve, she started sneezing and blood was oozing out from her nose, mouth and that cut. I panicked and couldn't help but cry because the thought of losing her on Christmas kept invading my mind. My parents and I then sent her to the emergency vet (surgery) but I was then devastated to find out that the only choice was to put her to sleep.
My dog, shandy, has been with me since I was 5, and has helped me,guided me and accompanied me throughout my ups and downs in Life. It pained my hurt to see her suffer but it hurt me more to let her to sleep. I insisted that I wanted to bring her home, and my Dad was furious at this decision. See, my dad was never a fan of me keeping animals because he never wanted to be involved in any part of the animal's world. He was also half-hearted to bring the dog to the vet initially but after my mum stepped in and somehow argued with him, he agreed but kept saying that it was unnecessary and kept telling me to put her to sleep.
In the end, I did not put her to sleep and brought her home. I hope she does recover and that she'll stay with me for a few more years. I can't bear to leave her.
After returning home, however, my parents had another argument. My Dad was seriously unhappy and somehow claimed that we(my mum, my brothers and I) only wanted him dead so that we can take his money. This was so not true and my mum bombarded back with the torturous years that she had to go through while living with my Dad's family. This continued on and on and in the end, my Mum told him that she wants a Divorce, to go their separate ways.
I really want to keep this family together but sometimes, things don't work out fine.
Ms Lim once wrote "Forgive-Forget-Accept"
But things don't work like that sometimes, at least in my world.
You should treasure everything that you have because you never know when you might lose it. And after you lose it, you'll regret everything that you didn't do when you had a chance to.
Saying a simple "I love you" or giving a hug to someone you really care, can actually brighten up that person's day, making him/her realize that she/he is loved.
2007 has been a really bad year for me, hopefully 2008 brings light to my Life and bring me out from the dark well that I have been stuck in.
Well, it's always depressing to end with a sad post, not only will I feel depressed when I re-read it, the people who read this will be depressed too.
I don't want sympathy from anyone because I don't need to be pitied. I won't show that I'm depressed because I don't want this to affect my days as well as other people's days too. I believe that I strong willed and I won't die down. XD
I don't have anything to say so I'll end this post with videos.
Merry Belated Christmas, and a very happy new year in advance!

I am a Fire Hazard
My Dad was recently involved in an incident where a gas tank exploded in front of him. The cap of the gas tank hit and burned my dad on his leg, at the same time, leaving him in a sate of shock for a few moments. He's now hard of hearing on his left ear. Fortunately, he was the lucky one, because his friend, who was hugging the gas tank, actually suffered a deaf ear as well as a fractured feet because of the impact that had caused due to the explosion.
I'm not sure what happened, and I'm not bothered to find know. But, after the incident, my Dad has been going around in our home spot-checking every bit of the house. Why? Well, that's because my dad's looking out for FIRE HAZARDS. Pretty unusual, I must say, but like he always said "better to take precautions".
I didn't bother at first and thought that he'll forget about in a day or two, but I was so wrong! My room, of all other places, was the most "jialat" because as from what he said, "your room has so many places where it can catch fire". I have plastic bags on the floor, Plastic bags full of toys near my computer and an area of wiring that is exposed to the window, which might in turn have bad weather and rain.
He's been pestering my brothers and I to clean our rooms, shift the fire hazard stuff. But being adolescence, we ignore him. We even made up things like to throw the iron away because it was a fire hazard. The stove too, the fish tanks, and the TV sets. My brother even volunteered to be thrown away because he said that he smoked, so he might catch fire.
Hahaha, the things that you would do, just so that you would not encounter it again. But if we throw all this away, who'll buy new ones for us? Money?

Car Jumper
edited: It seems like I get to keep this blog skin! I managed to make the fonts bigger and now I'm much more satisfied! But credit still goes to the person who created this skin!!
A new blog skin. I like the pictures but am not so satisfied with it because the fonts are pretty small. It's kinda' irritating sometimes when you have to squint the whole time, while trying to read the post. I'll change to another soon.
Anyway, my favorite past time, is to watch the Ellen DeGeneres Show. I'm a great fan of her show and am always eager to watch her shows at 1.00PM or at 5.00PM every week day. I love how she is able to make the audience laugh, and how much she cares for things, especially animals.
Anyway, there were a few episodes where she showed a video of a guy and later even asked him to come to her show. This guy's name is Chris Bryant and he is able of jumping over a car. Yes, literally jumping over a car!
He wanted to be in Ellen's show and was actually invited to come. At the show, he was then asked to jump over 5 cars consecutively. And he actually did it with great success!
But he dreams were not just to jump over cars all day. He worked as a Bus Boy and he wanted to be in a Nike Advertisement.
Ellen was so willing to help him that she called Nike again and again until someone, i think the CEO of NIKE, agreed to see Chris Bryant.
He was so successful that he actually managed to be sposored by Nike to jump over cars, as an advertisement. Don't believe me? Watch this.
Superb jumps isn't it?
He was a bus boy and now he is a walking advertisement. He is so popular right now that he has given talks to schools all over America.
Now, i want to jump as high as him too. Hahah.
Anyway, Christmas is in a couple of days. So I'll wish EVERYONE, a VERY MERRY Christmas, and A VERY HAPPY New Year!

Hady Mirza as the Asian Idol, and videos!
Watching the Asian Idol was a total waste of time. i was actually surprised that Ken Lim actually praised Hady Mirza for proving that he is actually ready as a Singapore Idol. I was watching the show with my mum and she constantly repeated "Aiyah he out lah!" whenever the camera was filming Hady's Face.
And my mum and I couldn't stand how Danial Mantana behaved. Yes, he may be cute, hot or whatever. But how could someone constantly flirt, talking about how compatible he and Phuong vy are, and making gross face expressions whenever phuong Vy's name was mentioned. I mean, Phuong vy is hot, but shouldn't he control himself? He's not filming for his own but this show is actually broadcasting all over Asia. And he actually tried to grab Phuong Vy by her waist, but she "poked", more like tickle him, so as to hint to him, to let go. I mean, if I were her, I would've slapped him on Live TV. This is not jealousy people, but imagine, you singing your daughter there, being flirtatiously handled, even touched. Wouldn't you be pissed off? I'm in no relation to Phuong vy, but I do care about this matter because youths nowadays ought to be aware of their actions. You don't know if she's a daughter of a King, or maybe is married! You can't assume and let your hormones take over you, just because you see someone hot. Anyway....
The results show was even more shocking as I didn't expect Hady to clinch the title. No offense to Hady's fans but I was expecting Jaclyn, Mau or Mike to win. A great disappointment as to how the Asian Idol was chosen. I personally feel that voting should not be used as a substitute for the scores of how well the singers can actually sing. This voting system however, is the choice because Governments from all around the world, use this as a disadvantage to us, because while we vote for our favorite idol, the government gains the money that we spent through the millions of SMS that that they get. I gotta' say, it's really a great entrepreneur mindset. But this, however, affects our talent industry because the "not so good" may have more supporters and votes than the "better" person and thus, the "not so good" gains popularity and the chance to be in the music/acting industry ,not because of his/her talent, but by the votes.
But I guess things can't be undone, and so congratulations to Hady.
Anyway, my Brother recently bought a new keyboard and mouse for his computer. And he wanted to give me his old one, which I didn't accept. The conversation ended with him being really pissed off. Here's how it went.
Bro: Eh, I bought a new keyboard and mouse. I'll give you my old one. Want?
ME: Buy for what?
Bro: Because the old one I use until not shiok already.
ME: Wth. Eh, I don't want the old one. I don't take third hand stuff.
Bro: Huh? What third hand?
ME: You buy it from the shop, which means you're holding it as second hand, and then
you use till shiok, and you hand it to me, third hand loh!
Bro: Wah, then aren't you second hand then? You did come out from mummy.
ME: Yeah, so did you. But when I get married, my husband's gonna get me as third hand
too.
Bro: Idiot lah you.
And he walks away, ignoring me and complains to my mum that I'm being naughty. Unfair right?
Anyway, before I end this post, I'd like to share some videos! All of them are Japanese videos but they're really funny. Enjoy!
HUMAN TETRIS - It's a game where the people have to form the shapes of the tetris in order to clear, and not hit against the moving wall.
Learning English - This is a game show where a class of students are made to watch a Japanese guy who has no clue about English. He has to read the book in English and the students can't laugh, or they will be punished!
Japanese Human Art - There used to be a show like this on TV, but I don't know if they still have it. I really love this show because if you look carefully, all the effects are made by Humans!
Marshmallow game - This game here, requires the contestants to try to eat the marshmallow, while being held against by the huge rubber band.
And lastly,
The Library Game - This is my personal favorite. See how far they can go through the punishments without making a sound, because they're in the Library!

American idol, Singapore idol, India idol!
Having to make comparisons of our Singapore Idol to American Idol, would be utterly disgraceful. For the fact that we had participants like Steven Lim (http://www.stevenlim.net/)
who tried so hard to nail a mediacorp contract. I'm in no position to judge this, but I think Singapore should have saved that film and not embarrass ourselves by broadcasting it on TV.
I do agree that there would be a bunch of insane people on every show that has an audition, even American idol had WANNA-BES. But Steven Lim is just too overboard.
If you don't agree, check this out.
He can't even speak in proper English!
Anyway, the main point is not NOT to criticize Steven Lim, but to actually give a standing ovation to India Idol! I myself, did not know that such a competition existed, until my brother showed it to me.
And I must say, that the winner, Prashant Tamang, is one fantastic singer!
I google-ed him and I managed to find his bio on www.wikipedia.org/.
Prashant Tamang (Nepali: प्रशान्त तामाङ) is a Kolkata-based singer and winner of Indian Idol season 3. He is the first contestant of Indian Nepalese origin to make it to the final rounds of Indian Idol and finally win. He is also the first person from the Indian police force to enter the final rounds. After the death of his father, Prashant, who was still in school, had to leave school and join Kolkata Police to support his family. He was a favorite to win the competition due to strong backing from the people of Nepalese origin and the Indian police force. Even as the results were yet to be announced on television, several news sources had reported Prashant's winning the competition.

Prashant Tamang was born in Tungsung, Darjeeling, West Bengal to Rupa Tamang and Late Madan Tamang. He spent most of his early life there and studied in St. Roberts school. After the demise of his father, Madan Tamang, in an accident, he joined the Kolkata Police Force, succeeding his father. In Kolkata Police, he sang for the police orchestra. His family includes his grandmother, mother and his sister.

According to the program commentary, Prashant tried out for Indian Idol because his friends and his seniors especially Mr. Zulfiqar Hasan, Special Additional Commissioner of Police(who incidentally also got Prashant's leave sanctioned for the competition) told him that his voice was very good.He auditioned in Kolkata. He received mixed comments from judges after his performances. He is the only contestant to have never been in the bottom 3 or 4 of the galas. He made it to the top 2 of Indian Idol 3 along with Amit Paul, before eventually winning the title.
Here are a few of the videos which he sang in.
I couldn't understand the song one bit, but i LOVED the way he sang the songs. Just. lovely. I can't wait till he releases an album of his own.
Speaking of albums, I blog-hopped and found out(from Yiling's blog), that Paul Twohill has released his own song.
I immediately played the song on the site and somehow, liked it. See, I'm not a great big fan of Paul Twohill, but I must say, that this song, does not have any Singaporean stuff to it. Like If you closed your eyes, you wouldn't know that a Singaporean did. Well, I'm just saying..
Anyway, I couldn't get any video to it, just this site. So go check it out.

12 days of Christmas
I spent the whole day yesterday, trying to fix the Christmas Tree. Based on all the Singapore kiasu-ism, my family is one of the Kiasu ones who will never fail to put up the Christmas tree around this time.
Christmas is the only celebration which I love most, because other than good food, and movies, songs, we get PRESENTS!
Anyway, speaking of the Christmas tree, I manage to complete fixing it, having to place the lightings and the decorative onto the tree( with the help of my mum, of course).
And I must say, our efforts were not wasted.
It's was dazzling, making every moment seem as though we were living in some enchanted palace. Exaggerated? hahha, many a little. But who cares.
Pictures below..
I call this "strawberry dipped in sugar". It doesn't look really nice in the day time. But see how it changes in the night.
This one really made the tree look "richer" in color. Just see how it shimmers in the lights.
This doesn't really show much at night, but it's still nice..
And this is my personal favorite. I don't know why but it make the tree all pretty and nice. hahah.
Oh, and we used rubies too. It looks really nice especially when it's dangling in front of the lights.
And last, the whole tree itself!!
This is how it looks like in the day time.
(Note: Ignore the Tv and the half opened door.)
And this is how it looks at night!
I'll be devastated if my dogs peed on the tree again, like last year, on Christmas eve. hahah, I think they wanted to mark their "territory" or something.

An infatuation for Tokio Hotel
edited..
I have been watching MTV lately and have noticed videos of "Tokio Hotel" playing over and over again.
For the first time, before the song actually began, I thought that Tokio Hotel was some Taiwanese band that would have sounded much like the song of the fast and the furious by the Teriyaki Boyz. But I stand corrected. I was so wrong, because Tokio Hotel is actually a band from a town in East Germany and they are made up of Bill Kaulitz (vocals) & Tom Kaulitz (guitar), Georg Listing (bass) and Gustav Schafer (drums).
I got even more interested and started searching for their songs in Youtube.com. There, I manage to find a fantastic song title "Don't Jump" by Tokio Hotel. There's no proper music video for the song, and so I read through some of the comments and realized that it was the English version of "Spring Nicht" which is also sung by them.
I was so interested in Tokio Hotel that i decided to Google them and came upon their official UK website which is http://tokiohotel.pop24.de/tokiohotel2/index2_uk.php
What caught my eye about this group soon after reading their Bios was that there twins in the band itself! Bill Kaulitz (vocals) & Tom Kaulitz (guitar).
And check out Tom Kaulitz! He's such an eye candy!
Bill & Tom
At first I thought Bill was a girl...
Eye candy!
And listen to their song "dont jump". I find it rather meaningful and emotional.

Anthon Berg almighty
There's a saying that chocolate always tastes heavenly when it's accompanied by liquor.
And I don't mean Tiger Beer or CarlsBerg. But, Liquor like spirits.
But having to buy this liquor just so that we can enjoy our chocolates, is a total waste of money. And most of this items are beyond the amount of pocket money that any 15 year old, like me, can afford. Besides, I'm under-aged which means that it would be illegal for me to buy any.
Moving on..
what I'm actually trying to say is that I got to taste this heavenly mixture of chocolate and liquor, all thanks to my Aunt. Now, what is so unique about this, is that instead of having to gulp down the liquor and then having to bite the chocolate just so that we can mix them in the mouth, there's actually this brand of chocolate that has liquor in it!
The cover of it
The cute tiny "bottles" of chocolate
Just to prove how small it is,
And as seen from the picture above, I found one containing "XO"
It's actually really really nice and I thought of buying it for myself and some of my friends for Christmas, but I later learned that this box of chocolate was expensive too!
I was a little disappointed though, but I got to live like a "rich person" just for that few hours indulging in the chocolate. Okay, not really a rich person, maybe just an adolescence, being new to things like this.
Oh, and do check out these videos please. It's hilarious because this person named Buffalax actually "directly translates" the songs. Wait, I wouldn't call it translate. Let's just say, he wrote what he heard..

The love for Blogthings
What do you do when you've got nothing to blog about? Get yourself hooked to Blogthings! Okay, I'm not the kind of person who would simply throw a bunch of "blogthings" in this post just because I have nothing to blog about. In fact, the reason why i'm doing this is because, I simply love blogthings! I don't know why but this website somehow got me addicted to it and I've been going there ever since, trying out all the new quizzes. Here's some of them...
The hilarious one:
And my personal favourite:
You Communicate With Your Ears |
You love conversations, both as a listener and a talker. What people say is important to you, and you're often most affected by words, not actions. You love to hear complements from others. And when you're upset, you often talk to yourself. Music is very important to you. It's difficult to find you without your iPod. |
Your Personality is Very Rare (ENTP) |
Your personality type is optimistic, curious, enthusiastic, and open. Only about 4% of all people have your personality, including 3% of all women and 5% of all men. You are Extroverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Perceiving. |
You Are Ernie |
Playful and childlike, you are everyone's favorite friend - even if your goofy antics get annoying at times. You are usually feeling: Amused - you are very easily entertained You are famous for: Always making people smile. From your silly songs to your wild pranks, you keep things fun. How you life your life: With ease. Life is only difficult when your friends won't play with you! |
You Can Hang With the Guys and the Girls |
You've struck a good balance between girlie and laid back. You can keep it casual but when you dress up, you are as girly as the next girl. |
Your Taste in Music: |
90's Alternative: High Influence Adult Alternative: High Influence Hip Hop: High Influence 90's Hip Hop: Medium Influence Classic Rock: Medium Influence |
You Are An ENFJ |
The Giver You strive to maintain harmony in relationships, and usually succeed. Articulate and enthusiastic, you are good at making personal connections. Sometimes you idealize relationships too much - and end up being let down. You find the most energy and comfort in social situations ... where you shine. In love, you are very protective and supporting. However, you do need to "feel special" - and it's quite easy for you to get jealous. At work, you are a natural leader. You can help people discover their greatest potential. You would make a good writer, human resources director, or psychologist. How you see yourself: Trusting, idealistic, and expressive When other people don't get you, they see you as: Bossy, inappropriate, and loud |
The hilarious one:
You Are Scary |
You even scare scary people sometimes! |
And my personal favourite:
Your Chances of Being a Multimillionaire: 88% |
It's almost certain you'll be a multimillionaire. Just keep doing what you're doing. You are good with money, a creative thinker, and an ethical person. You might be the next Donald Trump! |
