Obsession

Never once did I ever think that I would fall head over heels for you. I never really opened my heart to anyone because I was afraid. Afraid of so many things so much that I had to hide my feelings deep within me. But when I'm with you, things are different. I never expected anyone to be able to bring down the walls that were safely guarding my fragile heart, but you were able to. Your warmth, your comfort and just the presence itself makes you seem like a guardian angel because I feel safe and comfortable whenever I am with you. You make me feel secure because I know that I am no longer alone, and that you would always me there with me. It's me and you against the world. But that is not the only thing that I like about you. The best part of this whole thing is of how there is a tingling sensation whenever you are in my arms. I'm addicted to you. I need you. I love you.

Most of you would probably be gagging at the mushy stuff that I wrote above. However it is true, I am in love, but with who you say? Who could possibly be so blind or at the very least brave enough to steal my heart? Well, it is not a HIM, nor is it a HER.

If you have been following me on Twitter or Tumblr, you would have read about my obsession, so you would have guessed 'who' I was talking about earlier. However, if you have been missing out on my updates, then just Click Here to find out 'who' I was talking about.

No I was kidding. I was actually talking about candy. Yes, candy will show you the way to my heart. Being able to taste the sweet savoury candy that slowly melts in one's mouth gives me the thrills. I'm obsessed with it and I enjoy getting sugar rush every once in awhile because of it.

As you can see, I like to stock up on candy every once and awhile (This is my workstation at home by the way). As you can see, I've got the Crisp Dinosaur (HAHAHA) and loaded him with a couple of crisps and choco. Then there is the container of Easter Eggs and Gummies. I'm still trying to find time to get some sour gummies, chocolate sunflower seeds and M&Ms (or as how my mum puts it, MMMs).



However, I don't think I need to get them anytime soon, and it's all thanks to Rafidah, Rachael and Hamidah. Because look what they gave me!

Okay, so you can't really see what that is... but it is actually a bag of heavenly goodness. Food Porn I tell you! Just keep scrolling down to see why...

Look at what greeted me when I opened the gift. MALTESEERS!!

All of the candy that was in the gift. Three types of Sour Powder,(love this sort of candy when I was a kid) Sour Gecko gummy (MMMMM...), Cadbury Freddo Chocolate (used to have a stash of them too, the white chocolate one was 'cut-leg awesome), Milky way (Man it's been so long since I ate this. One of the best chocolates ever), Jelly beans (reminds me of the Harry Potter ones that Syuh used to have!), Gummy Eyeball (this is the sickest one of all. I LIKE!) and finally, that bag of MALTESEERS!!!! How can anyone not go crazy over candy? Mmm...


And if that is not enough, then check this one out...


The craziest chocolate combo that I tried at the Ice Cream Buffet. The ice cream flavours were: Mudpie, sticky chewy, rocky road, coffee and butterscotch. And the toppings were: milo balls, malteseers, chocolate fudge, wafer, chocolate sprinkles and coco pops.


I don't know about you but I sure am drooling. Shall go get myself some Nutella toast now.

Random Updates

Wow, it's been such a long time since I last updated on this site. While for most of the time the excuse to not blog would be that I was busy, this time I actually am without a reason.

Anyway, Chinese New Year was lovely (how I wished it would never end), with a total of 6 gatherings, 5 sessions of 'Loh Hei' (is that how you spell it?), 6 sessions of card games, 6 sessions of laughter and a whole bunch of food. And to think that my mum's side of the family would mean that it would be a small celebration. I hope yours was just as well, if not better.



Well, there's nothing much to say actually, just that I've been gaining loads of weight from indulging non-stop, and that there's a couple of posts saved in the draft, that I've yet to complete. So people, I'm alive and well, if not eating, sleeping and rotting myself to death (as my dad puts it). Hah!

Merry Christmas

Christmas is always celebrated at my place because it is the one occasion where my family is brought together regardless of their race, or any other differences. It is the one occasion where we sing, laugh, eat, drink and leave all the negativity behind. What I love about Christmas the most, is the company and the magical effect it has on us all.

Don't you agree that there's something magical about Christmas? I don't know if it's the ambiance, the company or simply the thought of it that makes it all so special, but I'm loving it.

And what else to top it off than a Christmas movie? Till this very day, one of my favourite movie would have to be "When the Grinch Stole Christmas".

Body Bakery

After being shown a gruesome bound feet made out of cake by Syuh, I decided to google for cakes. And boy oh boy did I find a mouthful!

First up, a six feet sculpture of Jesus Christ that was made entirely out of chocolate. This art piece is titled "My Sweet Lord" which is done by artist Cosimo Cavallaro. It was planned to be displayed at the Lab Gallery in Midtown Manhattan.




Unfortunately, it was cancelled.

"But word of the confectionary Christ infuriated Catholics, including Egan, who described it as "a sickening display."

Bill Donohue, head of the watchdog Catholic League, said it was "one of the worst assaults on Christian sensibilities ever."

"It’s not just the ugliness of the portrayal, but the timing — to choose Holy Week is astounding," he said."

It would be pretty awesome to see it on display. But having heard that it led to a major controversy when it was planned, it's a much better idea to cancel it.

Alrighty, on to the last one. This brings baking to a whole new level. Why? Because he does this....














This is not some horror flick. This is actually edible! I'm not kidding. This is actually a creation by Thailand's Fine Art student, Kittiwat Unarrom. This guy really has the skills. Not only are the they bloody, bruised, gory and edible, they look very realistic.


My oh my, I can imagine one opening it's eyes as we devour it. Heh.








Inside a dark room, realistic-looking "human body parts" are stacked on shelves and hanging on meat hooks. The place looks like a mortuary or the lair of a serial killer, but in fact, it's a bakery. What appears to be putrefying body parts are the bread sculptures of 28-year-old art student Kittiwat Unarrom.

"Of course, people were shocked and thought that I was mad when they saw the works. But once they knew the idea behind it, they understood and became interested in the work itself, instead of thinking that I am crazy," said the fine arts masters degree student.

He hopes his realistic artwork will make people ponder whether they are consuming food, or food is consuming them.

"Everyone's life is rushed nowadays, even when it comes to eating," he said. "When we eat, we don't think about our health or safety, we only think of our taste buds."

As an undergraduate art student, Kittiwat started painting portraits. He then moved to mixed media and finally dough - a natural medium for him since his family runs a bakery.

Along with edible human heads crafted from dough, chocolate, raisins and cashews, Kittiwat makes human arms, feet, and chicken and pig parts. He uses anatomy books and his vivid memories of visiting a forensics museum to create the human parts.

"When people see the bread, they don't want to eat it. But when they taste it, it's just normal bread," he said. "The lesson is 'don't judge just by outer appearances.'"

I don't think that'll be the only lesson learnt.


Hats off to whoever who has the guts to swallow this. You might be labelled as a Cannibal though.

This is the season to be jolly... Falalala lalalala. Okay, I do know that it's Chinese New Year. And that phrase was supposed to be for Christmas. So why sing it during Chinese New Year?

Well, the days of rats have long passed us, and now we shall welcome the days of bullshit! Okay, no, it's OX.

Well, Chinese New Year to my family is just like any gathering; there's loads of food. We get to enjoy mixture of Peranakan dishes, western dishes, Malay dishes, Chinese dishes and even the chocolate fondue!

My Uncle's place would be bustling with the young and the young at heart. There will be loads of laughter, and the day shall not be over till over belly is bloated with food!

But just like every Chinese family, we do eat the Yu Sheng.

We also have loads and loads of tidbits.

And who can ever forget the famous Bak Gua?

And for those who are looking forward to buying that hot dress, cool shoes or game, this is the time to go all dreamy over money!





As for me, all I need is a carton of oranges.




For what? To eat lah!


As I watch my all time favourite activity, the Lion Dances! (My aunt knows that I love watching and would buy some CDs for me to watch them).





I'm a happy kid.

Oh Holy Night

Christmas is in exactly a weeks time.




And I'm sure everyone is excited about it. I've passed through many houses that has beautiful Christmas Trees, Wreaths, Lights and even Candy Canes. And who can miss out on the Christmas carols and classical music that dances with the flame on the burning candles.





Everyone's busy shopping, buying presents for their friends, families and close ones. Picking out the right gift can be tough sometimes, because you never know if the person really likes it, or if the gift is enough for you to afford.

But after buying the gifts, you happily race back home and lock yourself in your room. Then you begin taking the gifts out one by one, and wrapping them yourselves. While doing so, you'll question yourself "Why didn't I buy this for myself? I want one too!". Then, once you're done wrapping them up, you paste Christmas stickers that has the word "to" and "from" and you write you name and your friend's/families' name. Then you happily walk to your Christmas tree and place each and every present neatly under the tree.




Then you wake up the next day, only to find that your dog has peed under the tree, but thankfully, none of the presents were "blessed" with his pee. You yell at him, and then realize that you missed a gift for someone that was important to the family. You dash out of the house, and buy the gift. You place it under the tree. Now everything is perfect.

Christmas Eve comes, and you can't wait for evening to come. When it does, your mum switches off all the white lights, and switches on the dim orange lights. She presses play on the Stereo System and Elvis Presley is singing.


You run around the house as you brother chases you. And then when it's time for dinner, your mum yells for you, and you head to the kitchen to help lay out the food on the dining table. You sit down patiently, or rather impatiently waiting for everyone else to sit down.


You eye the food as you see everyone loosen the belt on their pants, to make room for more food. Then there's the food. Mmm, the scrumptious Shepard pie, with the mouth watering Apple Pie. Not to forget the sizzling, smoking hot Turkey.





Then when all that's done, you have Log Cake for deserts. If that isn't enough, then turn on the chocolate fondue, dip your favourite fruit in, and devour the silky smooth larva.




You thought that the Chocolate Fondue was the only thing to keep you at it, but you were wrong. You hear a "pop" sound and realizes that it was your dad who had popped a bottle of wine. Then there's the round of wine, followed by Vodka, and if lucky, all the Anthon Berg spirits would be devoured.





You continue eating, and watching TV/ listening to the classics till you can't eat no more. You start sending SMS wishing your friends Merry Christmas and you wait as your phone buzzes non stop from the messages to and fro. You watch more TV and then it's time. Everyone, including your dog gathers round the Christmas Tree. We start handing each other gifts and we viciously, and excitedly tear open the wrappers. When we're all done, you take a small present that's left unwrap and you call your dog over. You unwrap it, and hands him his new collar/toy.


Then we all go to bed, smiling to our heart and tummy's content!



And that's how I spend my Christmas every year, and I hope it doesn't change much this year.

The main reason why I visit the Polyclinic, and not any other clinics

The past few years of my Life had been filled with visits to the hospital and Polyclinic. The polyclinic was like a second home to me. I was there for the major reasons, like when I got my ankle busted and when I tore my knee. I was also there for the minor reasons, like when I decided to skip school for that day.



I loved the Woodlands Polyclinic especially because they always gave me a two day Medical Leave, rather than one. It must have been my good acting skills back then.


But a couple of years later, I shifted away. There is a 24 hour clinic just a few metres from my home, and there's two clinics at the opposite junction of my home. But I still return to Woodlands Polyclinic most of the time. No, it's not for the two days MC anymore, because I realized that the clinics near my home give the same amount too.


Well then, you must be wondering what it must be. Well........



It's because of their lovely vending machines! They have at least 3 vending machines, the "high-tech" ones like this:




Where we slot in our money, and press the secret code (I used to think the machine was only for me). Then the vending machine would acknowledge the code and spit out the item I wanted. I loved the varieties available in the vending machines, from the chilli tapioca to the M & Ms.

I always found it weird why no one used the vending machine, but rather buy the tasteless bread from the shop. But nevertheless, I was delighted as the vending machine belonged to me, and me only.


However, things changed. It's been awhile since I lasted visited the Polyclinic. And yesterday, I did. To my horror, there was not a vending machine in sight! I asked the staffs and they said that they removed it when the polyclinic was under renovation.

That simply destroyed my mood.


But everything was soon forgotten, as soon as I reached my block, where my three vending machines whom I had been loyal to, await me.


I've been addicted to one of the items in the vending machine lately (other than the must have Apollo)



Well, it's actually Oishi's Pillows!!!
