Someone who speaks his mind about local bands. I'm not saying I support him or anything. It's no harm hearing from other, isn't it?
I caught the later part of "Live N' Loaded" last night, and of all the performances shown, and I think ShiGGa Shay wasn't too bad.
You can find his MySpace profile here. There, you can find his background info, full name and even how he became a rapper.
Yes, you're not seeing things, he is a rapper. A Singapore Rapper.
Now, most of you would go "huh? Singapore Rapper? Sure or not? Sure very lame loh, or got 'lah' or 'loh' here and there. So malu!".
Well, at first when I heard Utt introduce him, I too thought the same. But after hearing him rap, it totally changed my opinion.
I really liked the song that he performed, "Still Fly". You can watch it below, and give your opinions on it.
And the next one is actually a dedication to all momma's out there.
You can head on to his Youtube channel to watch more of his videos, including the pranks. Click Here.
The funny thing was, he spoke like a Gangsta' from the Bronx when interviewed by Utt. I wonder if he did the same for his English Oral Examination?
Well, some of you might say "Aiyah poser". Well, that's for you to decide. I think it's pretty neat to have a local talent that raps tight music.
Loves.

26 random things
Okay, I did a "25" version in Facebook and since then, I have been tagged to do more 25 and even 26s!
I have a lot of random stuff to share about me. And since I'm bored ( I know you're bored too),I have decided to do a "26" version here.
Fret not, it's not a repeated "random things" from 25.
Here goes...
Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 26 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 26 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.
1. I used to swim a lot when I was younger. I still love swimming now, but I don't like the filthy swimming pools. I didn't bother then, until I saw a few shit in the pool.
2. I actually like cleaning my room, and arranging stuff. I guess I got this habit from my dad, while my mum and brothers are the "can't be bothered" type. And they claim that it's part of the "art" kind of people.
3. I have sweaty palms. None of my family members have it, except for my oldest brother.
4. I hate playing games which require us to hold hands. (refer to 3).
5. I love body piercings. I still want to pierce my tongue, nose(again, after 3 times), do a corset piercing, and pierce the middle part of my ear and definitely more industrial piercings. I also wanna' try out the dermal anchors. It's funny how we're paying money to inflict pain upon ourselves.
6. My family thinks I'm crazy (refer to 5) because I am a girl and should not think about all these.
7. I love eating durians. I'll freeze them for a while, then enjoy the creamy, ice-cream like treat.
8. My favourite cartoon when I was younger, was Barney and Friends. I don't really like it now, because the dinosaurs are not cute at all.
9. I hardly shed a tear. My family thinks it's because I'm too hard hearted. It kinda' sucks though, to not shed a tear, like I'm sadistic or cold blooded or something.
10. I love injuring myself. I like the pain of spraining my ankles and big wounds on me.
11. But despite all that pain, I still think that tiny wounds actually hurt the most.
12. I used to make a hammock out of bandage whenever I sprain my ankle. Then I'll hang it from my window to my door, and hang my feet on it.
13. I have a lot of "Cabbage Kids" dolls. But they're tied up in those thrash bags. In fact, all my soft toys are in thrash bags, because there's too many, and because I always arrange them neatly on my bed, so much that my parents think it's a nuisance.
14. As seen from above, I love soft toys, and till now, would touch or hug every soft toy that I see.
15. I think plus sized people are way hotter than skinny people, if they know how to dress well. I think that they look much more "alive and fresher" than skinny people who looked like they've not eaten for months. It's all the in the boobs and booty. I have a thing for that.
16. I love reading storybooks. Well not any kind, biography type. I'm reading Catherine Lim's books now. And I plan to find more books after reading both of them.
17. I have wasted tonnes of money just on books. Nerd is in the house!
18. Till today, I love going to the toys' section to find all the cool science experiments.
19. I used to and still want to have Sea Monkeys. But they're bloody expensive now.
20. I love animals, and can't stand all the nonsense of puppy mills, and fake fur. But I do eat meat. It's contradicting, but I can't really live without meat though.
21. I don't eat pork. I hate the taste and texture of it. Nor do I really eat beef, because my dad (hindu belief) and brother(Buddhist belief, only recently. But he's still Christian. I told you, my family's a weird one) adopted the "cows' are sacred like our mothers" belief. Mutton tastes like Blah, and chicken is really boring. I think I should start changing to become a vegetarian soon. Just maybe.
22. I am still a free thinker.
23. I love to freeze grapes and then crunch on them after dinner.
24. I still want to get back and learn my "er hu" again. And I wanna' take up guitars and drums too. If I only I had the money.
25. I wonder what Paris Hilton would look like if she was fat.
26. A fortune teller told my family that the way I ride my bicycle is really fast and dangerous. And if I were to carry on, I would break a leg. From then, my parents have banned me from riding a bicycle. They even banned me from taking up bike license. I can only drive a car. Pfft.
I'm done!
It doesn't pay to have a brother working in a tattoo/piercing shop that sells clothes. Not only does he get free tattoos, he got a eyebrow piercing last year, and recently got a lip piercing for free! And to make things worst, he got free clothes that costs up to $55 per clothe. No Fair!
Im real jealous.

Science Freaks
I have always loved Science Experiments. When I was younger, I would head to Toys R' Us and would pick out those boxes with experiments in them. (Yes, then I would use the 'hug the toy and not want to go home till it's bought' method)
The experiments were basically amateur ones, like cornflour (with water..duh) that prevents an egg from breaking despite being a liquid. And chemistry sets like changing the colours of water in test tubes (back then I had no idea what copper(ii) sulphate was what....)
Till now, I still find the self made fire balls to be the coolest, yet have not had the "mood" to make one yet.
And it was only yesterday that I found more cool science videos on Youtube.
Yes, I love nerdy stuffs too. It's hot.
For the first video, it's something to do with dry ice. I love dry ice, and when I was working in Wall's Ice Cream, I would sneak a few dry home home. I love throwing them on the floor, and then see how the "smoke" spreads all over, like some vampire show.
I only wished the bubble would have formed fully. I'd like to see how it floats or something like that. But this is still cool. And the replay part with it going backwards was nice too. Dry Ice anyone?
The second one. No one said that water can be lighted with fire, till now.
The third one. Have you ever wondered what makes the loud noise (thunder). I was told(back then) that rain was god's way of relieving himself/crying. And thunder is when two clouds bump into one another. But they were too soft to do it, weren't they? So I found out that truth.
Liquid Nitrogen please! It can help to make Ice-cream too!
The fourth one is AWESOME. I love gummy bears but I had no idea that it could form a reaction so COOL. hahah.
And lastly, I want a BristleBot too!!!!

Day Out
2nd February was my mother's birthday. We didn't really celebrate it on that day. Instead, we did it on the 1st because my brother had to report back to camp. I must say, that it is really tough doing things behind my mum's back. She's always up and about, and really vigilant. The slightest move can let her know what'll we're up to.
So it was three in the afternoon and I told her to take a nap. I could see her eyes questioning mine, but she slept anyway. Then, it was my task to get the cake, cook the meals and make everything PERFECT. I marinated the meat and left it to soak up the flavour. Then I went to get my mum's cake.
Everything was last minute because none of my brothers told me anything until on that day itself. And I had to do everything. Oh well.
Back to the story..
So I headed to the shop and couldn't find any Dark Forest Cake (my mum's fave). There were only chocolate cakes and tiramisu, and their excuse was because it was Chinese New Year. Stupid or what.
My mum doesn't like chocolate. And we've been eating tiramisu ice-cream for the past few days. So I called my brothers as I paced up and down in the shop. The shop keeper must've thought that I was some kind of amateur thief who panicked at the last minute. Hahah.
Both of them said the same thing "Aiyah, take anything lah". It was so easy for them to say it, I wish I was the one saying it. So I bought a vanilla fruit cake. It was the best I could find. Besides, it isn't too sweet for my diabetic mum.
Made my way home, and my intelligent brother did not stall time for me. I entered my home with a cake in my hands, with my mum greeting me in the kitchen.
Then I found out that she doesn't really like vanilla cakes because of the strong essence. Another bummer.
And the worst of all, she was cooking the meat which I marinated! When I shoo-ed her away, she said "this is my kitchen, why can't I stay here". She was right. It is HER kitchen, and so I stood alongside her, cooking the meal that was meant for her.
We cut the cake before my brother left, and then I found out that these sort of cakes were meant for old people, because it wasn't sweet. So I said that I cared for her, since she had Diabetes. And she actually agreed to my statement.
Fast forward to the next day...
I don't like the idea of not getting gifts for someone's birthday. And being my mum, she always denies wanting anything. And she always keepsour gifts for her because when asked she'll say "sayang mah. Use already then no more how?". Ya lah, keep until evaporate/spoil/cannot use already lah, then more sayang right.
So instead of buying things for her, I brought her out, my treat! She didn't want anything fancy, and letting her pick the place was the worst idea ever. Because instead of relaxing herself at some Spa, or doing shopping spree, my mum chose the library. So on her birthday, she spend the entire day at the library. I actually had a good time there too, because I managed to get back to my hobby of reading books.
Nothing much happened, just that I saw fellow schoolmates; Beverly, Chun Kiat and Mei Yin.
Skipping to the next day...
I decided to bring her out again, this time my choice. I chose IKEA/Giant, since they were side by side. And she loves Giant, and I love IKEA. But then she argued that it was far, and waste of time because the only thing we would be doing was drooling over things we wanted. So I told her to pick another place and we settled on IMM.
This was where something interesting began.
We bought our meals, and to our horror, could not really enjoy it because the inconsiderate people were dragging/lifting/pushing their chairs really noisily. I wonder if people living in that area were taught to do it noisily because everyone there seemed to be doing it, and none of them seemed to be bothered by it, except my mum and I. It was an unpleasant meal, but we decided to settle for dessert as well.
Apparently, it wasn't my lucky day. The dessert stall was manned by China workers (I think so, from hearing their accent). Anyway, the lady that was serving me was pissed that someone was spreading rumours about her. And her colleagues and her were arguing over something. (It was all in Mandarin and I am glad that I managed to understand some of it, unfortunately not all.) There were three of them, including the girl serving me. They argued LOUDLY about 20 feet apart each other. And the girl serving me was pissed and she was going on and on loudly. Everyone were looking at me, and her. And I was disappointed at how professional they were. I stood there for about 5 minutes while she went on and on, even in-between scoops of my durian ice kachang.
Then suddenly, one of the colleague said something that pulled the trigger. The girl that served me was about to burst. She spoke so loudly, and even stormed furiously towards them. It was really loud, the arguments, you know how high pitch and fast they can go. Secretly, my mum and I were waiting for some "action" to happen.

But sadly, one of the In-Charge stepped in to stop the whole commotion. And that was it.
But it is not my first time seeing unprofessional foreigners doing things like this. There was once when I was in the train and a lady (whom I think is also from China, from the way she spoke and looked) who was wearing a dress, actually sat with her legs up in the train! It was really disgusting because her private and panty could be seen. It was a total "Squatting position". Imagine that. Fortunately, it was the last train, and there wasn't much people in the train.
I'm not saying that I dislike foreigners or anything. But I wonder if Singaporeans would do the same too. I doubt so.

My Family Tree
I come from a long line of various races in my family. And I don't think it'll ever stop. Well, I hope not. And today, I shall reveal my family tree! Well, I'm actually not sure myself as to how many races there are.
Let's just start with my parents. Well, my dad's side doesn't really have a "happening" heritage. But I'm happy to be able to have a taste of Indian culture.
Everything, from the colours used, clothing, music played, taste of food and even their dramas shown are one of a kind; Unique.
Now comes the complicated part, my mum's side. My grandma is actually a Peranakan straight from Malacca (Melaka).
This culture too had great food (Nyonya food and delicacies are a must try), fantastic creativity (they have traditional methods of beading to make shoes. They even sew their own designs on their Kebaya. ), and strict rules.
On festive occasions, Nyonyas are known to sleep on tins with their hair decorated with pins. They have so much discipline in them, that when they wake up, not a strand of hair is out of place.
They also have strict rules when in the kitchen. From how to use the anak lesong, to serving people, to "restricted words" that shan't be mentioned while cooking.
One has to be feminine when wearing the kebaya. You wear clogs, or Nyonya slippers(modern) and have to walk slowly in them. Well, I'm both happy and sad that I do not have to follow the traditions. Happy, because I know that I'm bound to fail immediately. But sad, because this culture is dying out soon.
Anyway, if you wanna' read more about Peranakans, Click Here!
But truth to be told, my grandma is totally Peranakan. There's Javanese, Boyanese (Baweanese), Eurasian and so on.
Now this post is in fact not about showing off my family tree, well maybe alittle. But the main part actually has a lot to do with celebrations.
Chinese New Year is celebrated because, well, my mum's side is termed as Chinese. Deepavali is celebrated with my dad's side. My mum and brother are Christians, and my mum's side celebrates it as well, some are Catholics, whereas the rest... Just celebrate it for the joy of it. One of my aunt's fiance is a Malay, so we more or less have Hari Raya celebrations as well. We don't do the fasting and all, but we do eat!
Moving on...
Whenever I share with my friends, or strangers about my mixed heritage, most of them would go "wah, so good. Get to celebrate so many festivities. Sure got a lot of money right?".
Well, that's not really true. I know that celebrations are really about collecting money nor counting money, but I am going to talk about it. Sue Me.
Anyway, while most of you receive from both sides of your family on CNY/ Hari raya/Deepavali, I only receive half of it per celebration. Get what I mean? So you guys are actually more "blessed" to receive all the money in one celebration whereas I, have to wait till October/November to receive the second "round" of cash giving.
Who's the poor thing now? Hahah.
But if you're talking about food, yes, I am blessed to sample the various types of dishes. But you can too. Just head to the nearest Kopitiam, and order another races' dish. That'll do the trick.
Loves.
